With one owner from new, Lady Violet has been in the family for over
thirty years. She is a traditional narrowboat based on a shell from the
canals’ most respected production builder. Berths are in three separate
cabins, sleeping up to six people, making her ideal for boating with
family and friends. Central heating is by gas boiler with additional
warmth from the solid fuel stove in the saloon, along with the range in
the Boatman's cabin. A magnificent Russell Newbery DM2 engine sits
in it's own engine room and produces that mellow slow exhaust note
which many boat owners can only dream of. All the normal home
facilities are on board, with gas cooking, 12V fridge, shower and pumpout toilet. 230V power can be provided by the landline or the Sterling
1.6kW inverter. Alfresco dining can be arranged by utilising the dropdown table in the covered well deck.
